In this role, you will collaborate with healthcare providers, architects, engineers, contractors, and clinical stakeholders to plan and coordinate medical equipment for new hospitals, renovations, ambulatory care facilities, and expansion projects across the country.

As a Medical Equipment Planner, you will serve as a trusted advisor throughout the planning process, helping clients make informed equipment decisions while ensuring equipment requirements are fully coordinated with facility design, budgets, schedules, and operational workflows. You will play an integral role in delivering successful healthcare projects by balancing clinical needs, design coordination, cost management, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Management

• Manage medical equipment planning activities for multiple healthcare projects simultaneously.
• Coordinate room-by-room equipment planning for hospitals, ambulatory facilities, and specialty care environments.
• Develop and maintain medical equipment budgets, equipment inventories, planning reports, and project deliverables.
• Evaluate existing equipment to determine opportunities for reuse, replacement, or relocation.
• Monitor project schedules and proactively identify risks that could impact equipment planning activities.
• Support implementation of project delivery strategies established by the Project Manager or Planning Lead.

Client & Clinical Collaboration

• Serve as a trusted advisor to healthcare clients throughout the planning process.
• Lead planning meetings with clinical users to understand operational workflows and equipment requirements.
• Recommend medical equipment solutions that support clinical operations, patient care, and project objectives.
• Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, architects, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Confidently represent Anchor Planning during client meetings and presentations.

Design Coordination

• Review architectural and engineering drawings throughout the design process.
• Coordinate equipment requirements with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology disciplines.
• Identify equipment and design conflicts early to minimize redesign and construction impacts.
• Coordinate vendor utility drawings, equipment specifications, and infrastructure requirements.
• Participate in multidisciplinary design coordination meetings.
• Coordinate medical equipment information with BIM/Revit models and support model coordination reviews.

Procurement & Equipment Coordination

• Develop equipment lists and procurement documentation.
• Source equipment pricing and assist with comparative evaluations.
• Support procurement activities, purchase order tracking, and equipment coordination.
• Coordinate vendor activities throughout equipment delivery, installation, and operational readiness.
• Assist with equipment phasing, logistics planning, and final equipment verification.

Team Collaboration

• Coordinate with project team members and mentor junior planners as needed.
• Share lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support proposal development, business development activities, and educational presentations.
• Contribute to the continued growth of Anchor Planning's standards, templates, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in Medical Equipment Planning or a closely related healthcare planning field.
• Experience planning healthcare construction, renovation, or expansion projects.
• Strong understanding of hospital operations, clinical workflows, and departmental functions.
• Experience evaluating medical equipment for reuse, replacement, and new procurement.
• Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, clinicians, architects, engineers, contractors, and healthcare leadership.
• Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Understanding of healthcare design, construction sequencing, and project delivery.
• Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare architecture, construction management, biomedical engineering, interior design, clinical operations, or project management.
• Experience coordinating large acute care hospital projects.
• Knowledge of healthcare design codes and regulatory requirements.
• Experience coordinating BIM or Revit-based workflows.

Anchor Planning is seeking a BIM Technician to support the development, coordination, and maintenance of Building Information Models (BIM) for healthcare and medical equipment planning projects. This role will work closely with the BIM Manager and Equipment Planning team to create, update, and maintain Revit models, medical equipment families, and project documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and enjoys solving technical problems in a collaborative environment.

The BIM Technician will support our team and serve as a collaborator between the client, equipment planner, design team, and contractor. As a BIM Technician you will work in the Equipment Planning Group with design teams creating and managing medical equipment placement drawings in architectural Revit models, developing medical equipment families, and coordinating equipment in 3D models.

Responsibilities:

Modeling & Revit

• Create and update Revit models for medical equipment planning projects.
• Place and coordinate medical equipment within architectural models.
• Develop and modify Revit families.
• Maintain BIM content libraries.
• Assist with model updates throughout design and construction.
• Produce equipment placement drawings and documentation.

Coordination

• Collaborate with Equipment Planners, BIM Manager, architects and engineers.
• Participate in project coordination meetings.
• Assist with model coordination and help identify potential conflicts within the BIM model.
• Assist with project documentation and deliverables.

Quality Assurance

• Review equipment layouts for accuracy.
• Verify model consistency with company standards.
• Assist with quality control reviews.
• Maintain organized project files.

Administrative

• Update equipment databases.
• Research equipment information.
• Track assigned tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Assist with closeout documentation.

Qualifications:

This position requires experience in design at a production level with an emphasis on architectural design and drafting and a core competency in collaborating with a large team in a BIM environment. The successful candidate will be required to work independently and must be able to interpret direction either written or oral and will work within multiple project schedules.

Special consideration will be given to candidates with knowledge of procedures for production of 3D renderings, design development and construction documents, and knowledge of architectural planning, drafting, and detailing.

Our work is fast-paced, and we need a candidate who can learn quickly, assist with improving/building processes, and can navigate new technology.

·       Associate’s degree or technical diploma in BIM, drafting, architecture, engineering technology or related field
